Mr and Mrs Andrews 1749

The picture I have chosen is an oil on canvas, which during that era was seen as a higher class type of painting when done in that type of medium. It is a type of hieratic scaling painting. I like this picture because it shows a woman and a man who do not seem too interested in each other. When reading up on this painting it talked about how they were married for a business deal and he was 22 and she was 16. Also, when looking at this picture you're drawn to looking at them and then looking at what is supposed to be rows of corn and then off in the distance are what looks like to be sheep which would only make sense because the women in the pictures family were into making drapes.
