William Holman Hunt, The Hireling Shepard

This picture was painted in 1851. This picture shows a Shepard ignoring his flock of sheep and taking interest in this country girl. The sheep are said to have wandered off into a field of corn away from the Shepard. There are man debates on the meaning of this photograph. Whether the two in the picture were involved sexual actions and drinking. The other side is the thought of the picture is that the Shepard's in the bible are not morally guided and ignore their flocks to go off with women. Very interesting perspectives for the both.
