Tom Friedman, Untitled
Tom Friedman created a 3D form by using cardboard box corners. He created a 3D collage by using a simple every day object numerous times placed together in a ball-type form. I like how the various colors of the boxes clash, yet they also seem to go so well together at the same time. His creation portrays crystallographic balance because it is a composition in which the visual elements are spread fairly evenly over the entire surface while being scattered informally. The arrangement appears to be chaotic and fractured, but has a lively effect which I found to be different and interesting in his sculpture.
