Hen
Saul Steinberg
Pen and brush and India ink of paper
1945
I choose this picture just because I really liked it and thought it was cool. I like the way all of the lines are going in different directions and I think that it gives it an interesting appearance. Steinberg used line to create this piece and shows what can be accomplished by just using line. Steinberg made covers and drawings for The New Yorker for nearly six decades. He was a modernist but was never defined into a movement.
