Poplars on the Epte-Claude Monet
I chose this painting because I have always found Monet's paintings to be very beautiful and I especially liked this one as well, along with its underlying story. This is only one of the many 'poplars' paintings he has created. As he found out the tress were going to be cut down, he decided he was going to paint them as many times as possible, at different times of the day, through different weather conditions, until they were taken down. I really like the way he captures the glare in the water and the way the white clouds contrast against the light blue sky. Also, i like the way the lines of the trees and sky create an alternating rhythm.
