Mr and Mrs Andrews

This double portrait is named Mr and Mrs Andrews.  The artist responsible is Thomas Gainsborough and it was done in 1749.  The painting currently hangs in the National Gallery in London.  I chose this picture because I liked the juxtaposition of the evening gown that Mrs Andrews is wearing against Mr. Andrews' hunting garb and gun.  I also like the use of so many shades of blues and greens to imitate nature.  The dog at the side of Mr. Andrews also interested me, because if you look at the proportions, the dog, is either small or Mr Andrews is quite large.  Overall i just liked the picture.
